How It Works

It’s the power of giving–multiplied!

We are currently seeking new members to join the Alaska Women’s Giving Circle. Membership is low commitment (we know you’re busy!) and high reward (major impact!) The group meets 2-3 times each fall to propose and make final decisions on awards. We also host voluntary events in partnerships with our grantees throughout the year.

What’s a Giving Circle?

A giving circle is a group of individuals who come together, pool charitable donations from all their members, and make collective decisions about where to grant their money.

How does it work?

It’s simple. To join, send an email to k-scully@gci.net and indicate you’d like to join. The donation for 2017 awards will be $500 and payment options are available with total contribution made by December 31, 2016.  It’s fun, social and you’ll get to know some great, socially-minded people.

Is my donation considered a charitable gift?

Yes. Your gift to the Alaska Women’s Giving Circle Fund at the Alaska Community Foundation qualifies as a charitable gift. You will receive a gift acknowledgement from ACF for your tax records.
