Name of Nonprofit Organization: No Man’s Land Film Festival (NMLFF)
Sponsor: Abigail Enghirst
Short Project Description (50 words): NMLFF brings short women-powered adventures films to locations around the world to redefine femininity in adventure, sport, culture, and conversation. The Anchorage organizers will pair the 90-minute NMLFF screening with panel discussions and opportunities for both amateur and experienced female adventurers to connect and celebrate women in the outdoors.
The Big Why (300 words): The goal of the festival is to connect like-minded individuals who are action-oriented and want to support a shared vision of gender equality. It is a collaboration of both men and women who are committed to enhancing the female presence in the adventure arena and who have a desire to experience their passions and environments through a uniquely female lens. NMLFF strives to create a history of motivating audiences to implement and inspire change. The mission transcends the films presented; this festival acts as a platform for progressive thought and movement. The Anchorage organizers are planning a facilitated round-table discussion before the film, with the possibility of additional community panel(s) and associated demo activities for women to connect on issues and activities over the course of a few days.
The Bottom Line (Budget summary and what they’re asking for): $2,000 will cover the license to screen a custom playlist of films, an NMLFF Ambassador, and facilitated panel; $1000 would cover a basic screening
